This week in English:
We will continue with our study of argument writing
warrants and backing for our evidence
arguing against the counterarguments and rebuttals
We will continue our spelling pattern study
We will begin our sentence story in which we will study sentence structures
Read and respond to our booktalk and independent books
Analyze more argument pieces of writing for argument characteristics
Continue pre-writing the argument piece they will write
Research the topic they are going to argue
Reading this week:
Continue with reading The Outsiders
Discuss and practice the strategy of visualization in our reading
I am so excited about the book conversations students are having on the bookspot blog. It is so good to hear them using the language of readers and writers in their discussions and comments. I've heard about some books from them that I have never read that I will have to try.
Due this week:
By Friday
All pre-writing and research for their argument paper
At least two responses on the bookspot about other peoples book reflections.
